Being unique has its advantages. You find the most interesting things at garage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets instead of the high dollar décor that many strive for. You enjoy putting your own touches on clothes and anything else that could use a bit of ‘color’, if not outright making it yourself and you find more things in the woods and on the beach to use in more ways than humanly possible leading to a huge bag of sea shells that weighs about 10lbs in your spare bedroom. You save $, get enjoyment out of the discovery of an item, and have a blast using your creativity, but there’s another side to that coin. Continue reading
Over the years I’ve developed a love/hate relationship with my computer. When things are going smoothly or I’m in between projects my computer can be my best friend. Of course all it takes is a bit of writers block or going through my fourth edit and the feeling has grown cold. I have my share of procrastination moments, I start my laptop and bring up Word with the best of intentions and I may even read a few lines from what I’ve already written, then for some reason my hand moves that mouse and next thing I know spider solitaire has magically appeared on my screen. I even made a sign the other day while attempting to write as I sat in Barnes and Noble that said “Procrastination In Progress”, so at least I’m not fooling myself. Continue reading
